Embellishments 101: I'm with the Band

So you say that you just want a simple invite with one color? Yeah, that's cool and all. But when you're with this one-of-a-kind band, you'll make your guests' heart sing.

Cue, the embellishment: the burlap belly band. Did you know the origination of jute burlap came from India? The jute fibers of the burlap is renowned for it's durability and strength, as it was universally used in many different ways to export goods. Today, the texture of burlap brings back that sense of humble and enduring, home-spun charm. Our belly bands will add style and texture to the lead singer's hair...err, I mean your invitation suite.

Vintage Flair for a Southern Affair

This fancy invitation suite is the latest project we've been working on. Our lovely bride Lauren, wanted a feel of Anthropologie meets the South. Along with the vellum and burlap bellyband, the letterpress impression into the cream cotton cardstock brought a more tactile feel to the announcement. She also chose kraft paper envelopes to keep that rustic look. Read more on "Vintage Flair for a Southern Affair"...

Meghan and Ben

These pair of love birds are flying off to wedding bliss on December 13, 2008 in Memphis, Tennessee. The chocolate brown and sage green colors along with the tree and bird theme really set the tone for this wintry ceremony. Their invites were created using letterpress on Crane's LettraPress paper.

A big inspiration for their invites came from Ann Wood's whimsical bride and groom bird cake toppers. I can't wait to see this cute cake topper in person on December 13!

Heather & Scott

Heather and Scott's wedding invitations have finally been sent! Their fall wedding will take place in Charleston on October 4th. The main inspiration of their invites was the Cooper River Bridge, which will be the highlight view at the reception. Not only is this landmark a solid mark of beauty, it also symbolizes their big day as they bridge their lives together.

"I am extremely happy with the work done by P&J Invitations. The whole process, from initial conception, design, to printing and the most exciting part for me stuffing and mailing (because they did the work for me!) was a delight. Not only was the design high caliber but also the work relationship. Thank you both for a job well done!"- Heather Bunting Yavaliollah Read more on "Heather & Scott"...
